Author of 鈥楢 Lesson Learned鈥� to kickoff Tuskegee鈥檚 spring Lyceum Series

91制品厂兔子先生视频官网 will resume its 2018-19 Lyceum Series on Wednesday, Jan. 16 by welcoming author Jeevan Brown. The author of A Lesson Learned will make remarks beginning at 6 p.m. in the university鈥檚 Gen. Daniel 鈥淐happie鈥� James Arena.
Brown鈥檚 book is the subject of the university鈥檚 Common Reading Book Experience program. In A Lesson Learned, he dives into the lives of 16 college students as they experience the trials and tribulations that ultimately made them the men and women they are today. Based on true events, these stories are raw, uncut, funny, nostalgic and emotional. From near death experiences, sports, rape, drugs, racism, STDs, finances, fashion, relationships and more, each story gives a detailed account of the pivotal aspects followed by advice, statistics and the lessons the main characters learned from each experience.
Hailing from Landover, Maryland, Brown grew up with a keen interest in music and writing. After earning a communications degree from Johnson C. Smith University, he moved to Atlanta and began writing for Ozone magazine. He later co-founded Demeanor Clothing 鈥� a lifestyle brand dedicated to providing high-quality, message-driven clothing, accessories and art. Currently, in addition to writing, he is an IT business analyst.

The series 鈥� which features notable headliners who educate, enlighten and entertain members of the campus and surrounding communities 鈥� represents the university鈥檚 commitment to educating students in an engaging and holistic way.

Monday, Jan. 28: African-American civil rights activist Tarana Burke and first to use the 鈥淢e Too鈥� phrase in 2006 to raise awareness of the pervasiveness of sexual abuse and assault in society; 6 p.m., Gen. Daniel 鈥淐happie鈥� James Arena
Tuesday, Feb. 26: Patricia Russell McCloud, a motivational speaker frequently described as a 鈥渧isual speaking experience鈥�; 6 p.m., University Chapel
Thursday, Mar. 14: Dr. Randall Horton, an award-winning poet who also will serve as the Department of Modern Languages, Communication and Philosophy鈥檚 Spring 2019 Ellison Lecturer; time 3 p.m., Brimmer Hall Auditorium
Saturday, Apr. 6: Dr. Paul Kwami, director of choral activities at Fisk University and the university鈥檚 2019 Dawson Institute Lecturer; 1 p.m. Lecture, University Chapel; 6 p.m. Concert, Logan Hall
