Having heard from many students after the Homecoming tragedy, he shared student concerns outlining the importance of supporting House Bill 26, which would prohibit people from getting guns with parts or Glock switches that allow them to convert the weapons to machine guns.
鈥淭hese illegally modified guns need to be stripped off the streets of Alabama in order to protect the innocent lives that are constantly put in danger due to the lack of policy at the state level,鈥 he read from one student.
This was the second round-up session as state legislators prepare for the full session to begin next month.
Dr. Brown shared student comments emphasizing the terror they felt after Homecoming and cases reported at other HBCUs this year in Alabama and across the country.
