Students from听听visited Acadia National Park听in Bar Harbor, Maine听to study about careers in conservation and jobs听and internships听available within the National Park Service and associated fields.听
A mixture of graduate and undergraduate students participated in this experience. We had the pleasure of learning about jobs with various non-profits and park partners such as Camp Beech Cliff (Lodging Accommodations),听Somes听Meynell听Wildlife Sanctuary, Friends of Acadia, and the听Schoodic听Institute. The students were able to conduct a variety of citizen science projects in the park, team building with partners, and learned about several research management jobs in addition to education and law enforcement positions.听
A special thanks to Ranger Kate Petrie (Acadia National Park -听Schoodic听Institute), Joy听Absher听(Acadia National Park - Program Manager of Visitor Experience and Education), Paige Steele (Friends of Acadia - Conservation Projects Manager), Gail Gladstone (Acadia National Park - Cultural Resources Program Manager) and Ranger Chris听Silcox听(Acadia National Park - Seasonal Education Ranger) for making sure our students enjoyed every moment and had a wonderful experience at Acadia National Park!
